Codling moth Cydia pomonella L. is a bio-aggressor that causes considerable damage in apple orchards. In Algeria, in the region of Ain-Touta, damage caused by this predator reached 82.7% in 1998. Chemical control is most often used to suppress this microlepidoptera. Knowledge of the life cycle of this pest and its spatio-temporal relationships with its host plant is essential in order to envisage a more environmentally friendly control. Our study focuses on monitoring codling moth population dynamics in two plots of apple orchards of Dorset golden and Golden delicious varieties in the regions of Draa Ben Khedda and Sidi Naâmane in the wilaya of Tizi-Ouzou (Algeria). The use of sex pheromone traps reveals the existence of two flight periods per year in the Dorset golden variety plot in Draa Ben Khedda and three flight periods per year in the Golden delicious plot in Sidi Naâmane. The count of the eggs of this microlepidoptera confirms the existence of two generations in Draa Ben Khedda and three generations in Sidi Naamane.
