The properties of nanomaterials can be controlled by tuning their crystal structure, composition and size, due to large surface to volume ratio and quantum confinement effects make them superior and indispensable in many areas of human activity. Zinc oxide (ZnO) is unique and key inorganic oxide material with n-type II-VI semiconductor (Eg-3.37 eV) and high exciton binding energy (60 m eV). They attracted extensive attention of researchers because of their novel applications in wide areas of science and technology. Transition and Rare earth (RE) activated oxide powders are of interest because of their drastic improvement in waste water treatment and radiation stability.

Dr. Anil Kumar M.R associate prof, Dr. Nagaswarupa H.P prof and Dr. Prashantha S.C prof, the faculties department of BSH, EWIT, Bengaluru-91. They published more than 75 journal publications and authored three books. Their areas of interest are material science, luminescence, photocatalytic activity & electro chemical studies.
