A case-control study was conducted to determine the association between green tea, coffee consumption and type 2 diabetes risk for the Vietnamese population. The study also evaluated the relationship between physical activity and risk of diabetes. To our knowledge, this was the first analytical study to investigate risk and protective factors for diabetes risk among Vietnamese adults. The findings provided evidence for better control and prevention of diabetes in Vietnam.
