Synopsis

This book is talking about how to disinfect your farm, examination of the actual concentration of the active principle of the disinfectants, also the effect of contact time after the disinfection process to kill pathogens. The foam has an essential role for reduction of total bacterial count. Regarding to plankton and biofilm, the biofilm is a problem in poultry farm which could be a reason for spreading of infectious diseases so removing of biofilm is essential. Organic acids are effective in controlling both biofilm and plankton that present in poultry farm. Using of foot bath is one of the bio security weapons in the farm. The use of foot bath either wet or dry could be useful in control of pathogen transmission inside and outside the farm, rather than liquid form using semiliquid or dry foot bath could enhance the biosecurity levels in your farm. Using of chlorine disinfectants is a good choice, it was very effective against bio film also effective in the foot bath. The use of semiliquid or dry foot bath could be prepared from simple household disinfectants materials that use in the farm.

Biographie de l'auteur

Dr. May Fathy is a researcher at Reference Laboratory for Veterinary Quality Control on Poultry Production in Animal Health Research Institute. She studied in Egypt at Veterinary Medicine at Cairo University where she successfully completed three degrees: B.V.Sc., M.V.Sc and PhD. Her main interests are Animal, Poultry and Environment Hygiene.
