Synopsis
L'étude s'est concentrée sur le diagnostic des espèces de gastéropodes et de pelecypodes, principalement au stade des larves planctoniques, à utiliser comme preuve de transgression marine du milieu de l'Holocène dans le sud de l'Irak. Trois biofaciès ont été identifiés en fonction des microfossiles (larves planctoniques) principalement ainsi que de la nature des sédiments. Ils ont été définis comme Biofacies1 (B1), Biofacies2 (B2) et Biofacies3 (B3). Ils ont été définis comme Biofacies1 (B1), Biofacies2 (B2) et Biofacies3 (B3). où Biofacies1 (B1) peut être placé dans l'unité de transgression marine qui s'est produite au milieu de l'Holocène, tandis que Biofacis2 (B2) peut être considéré dans l'unité de régression marine, qui est d'environ 4000 ans BP, et les Biofacies3 (B3) peuvent indiquer que l'apparition de fluctuations du niveau de la mer à la fin de l'Holocène.
