Lecture is one of the best teaching learning method even in health science education. Lecture is inexpensive, time saving and teacher dominant method. It has its own pros and cons. One of the big disadvantage of lecture is passivity .But passivity can be overcome by using different interactive techniques. With proper preparation; planning and appropriate use of audiovisual aids, lectures can be made more effective and interesting. Considering all above elaborate discussion about lecture, author is confident about wide and multifaceted usefulness of lectures in health science education.
