Comparative analyses of traditional public schools, magnet schools, and charter schools are presently limited to performance outcomes. This book investigates how the school-types vary on factors consequential to performance such as school climate. School climate is integral to student success, attendance, teacher-student relations, and other significant outcomes. In this study, student and staff data from Miami-Dade Traditional Public Schools, Magnet Schools, and Charter Schools are analyzed in order to make comparisons among the school types that go beyond analyses of performance outcomes. Policy implications regarding school climate and school type are also discussed.
