Synopsis

It is important to evaluate the effect of the inclusion of rich unsaturated fats in ω6 and ω3 in diets for high production dairy cows managed in kikuyo grass (Cenchrus clandestinus (Hochst. Ex Chiov) Morrone monoculture) monoculture on voluntary dry matter consumption, dry matter and organic matter degradability, production level and compositional quality of the milk. Supplementation of diets for grazing cows with rich unsaturated fats in ω6 and ω3 at the levels used in this study did not negatively affect the in vitro degradation processes of dry matter and organic matter; likewise on the parameters of milk production, milk production adjusted to 4% fat, the amounts and percentages of protein, fat and non-fat solids.
