Adolescence is the most important and critical period of individuals development. Parents and teachers have a vital role to play in the life of adolescents. They can build and develop their life in a successful manner. It is important to recognise that adolescents need social and emotional support that may require reinforcement of norms of positive behaviour, acquisition of skills essential to cope with the risky situations that they encounter in their lives. The present work becomes very meaningful and helpful to know about the parental role in development of social competence among adolescence under Indian conditions and background.
