Image processing techniques primarily focus upon enhancing the quality of an image or a set of images and to derive the maximum information from them. Image fusion is such a process of combining two images to form a single image. The new image will be more informative than these two input images. In this book CT (Computed Tomography) and PET ((Positron Emission Tomography)) images, MR-T1 and PET images, MR-T2 and PET images and CT (Computed Tomography) and MRI (Magnetic Resonance) images are fused. The CT imaging provides the bone structures and the MRI provides best information about soft tissues. PET imaging provides anatomical information whereas the SPECT image provides functional information of the body. The fusion methods used are Random Block Selection (RBS) method, Criterion Based Selection Method (CBS) and ABF Weight Method. It is proved that the proposed method provides better result with less number of computations. Experimental results are taken by writing MATLAB code.
