The development of coatings is of primary concern in metal forming industries, which affects both the quality of the products as well as the environment. Currently, hot forming makes use of a eutectic mixture of calcium fluoride & barium fluoride, which are non-environmental. Hence there is a severe need to develop an alternative lubricant system to address the environmental issues. In this direction, researchers are attempting to establish a feasible surface engineering solution.
