Synopsis

Having good visual acuity is important for normal physical and cognitive development in a child, contributing to his/her socialization and learning. Some conditions can impair the development of vision in the first seven years of life causing Amblyopia, being of paramount importance its early diagnosis and treatment. With the growing computerization in the health area, large databases are being fed with patient records, complementary exams, health plan data, and data from the use of wearables (smartphones and smartwhatches), becoming necessary to analyze them the use of artificial intelligence and Data Mining techniques, to find consistent patterns, discover relationships between the data, perform classifications, make forecasts, test hypotheses, among others. With this we can help in the decision making in the medical area, aiming the prevention of potential diseases both at the doctor-patient level (precision medicine) and at the public health level.
