Machining of titanium alloy is very difficult and tedious due to, low thermal conductivity and work hardening property. This work is focused on the study of surface roughness (Ra), Material removal rate (MRR) and Power consumption and its effects on surface topography by using atomic force microscope (AFM) during high speed end milling of titanium grade-5 alloys by computer numerical control (CNC) milling machine. A full factorial design with regression modeling is used for the analysis. The three responses i.e. surface roughness, material removal rate and power consumption have been optimized by using three important input machining parameters; milling cutter speed (RPM); feed rate (mm/minute) and depth of cut (mm). Finally the results are validated experimentally for the developed mathematical model.
