Synopsis

Automatic translation is the computer system that performs translations from one language to another with or without human intervention. The value of this research is to show the difference between machine translation and human translation and to analyze the problems that are committed by machine translation. We apply our research to different Spanish texts that are translated by computer translation programs and then the same texts are translated by us to make a comparative and analytical study between human and machine translation, indicating the fundamental differences between both translations. Our study is limited to translation from Spanish into Arabic. The texts in which we have applied the study were selected from Spanish books, magazines, articles and Internet sites.
