This book is a research work developed with the purpose of guiding health professionals interested in adapting a protocol for the use of duplicators in mechanical ventilation systems, as a contingency plan for the SARS Cov2 (COVID-19) pandemic in Boyacá, in the event that there is not enough equipment to meet the demand, as a result of the exponential growth of infected people. The book is also a guide for engineering professionals interested in developing alternative equipment that can be adapted to conventional mechanical fans available in their respective regions or countries. The authors are an interdisciplinary group of engineers, physicians and physiotherapists, who, from their respective disciplines and experiences in both research and field work, pose the issues that are developed in each of the chapters that structure the book. At the end of each chapter, an extensive bibliography is included as reference material that allows for further study of the topics developed.
