Synopsis
La cicatrisation des plaies est un processus complexe dans lequel le tissu se répare lui-même après une blessure. C'est un processus qui implique l'activation des voies intercellulaires, la coordination de l'intégrité des tissus et l'homéostasie. Selon la nature et la profondeur de la blessure, la cicatrisation de la plaie peut être classée. La plaie aiguë est une dégradation de l'intégrité de l'enveloppe des tissus mous entourant n'importe quelle partie du corps. La suture est définie comme la jonction de tissus incisés avec une aiguille et du fil afin que les tissus se lient ensemble et guérissent. Silverstein LH 1999 a défini le mot « futur » comme tout brin de matériau utilisé pour lier (attacher) les vaisseaux sanguins ou les tissus approximatifs pour favoriser une guérison optimale, une hémostase, une réduction de la taille de la plaie à réparer, la prévention d'une bonne destruction inutile et pour résister aux contraintes fonctionnelles normales. Lorsque la technique de suture appropriée est utilisée avec le type de fil et le diamètre appropriés, une tension est placée sur les bords de la plaie afin que la guérison de l'intention principale se produise. L'application précise du lambeau chirurgical est importante pour le confort du patient.
