Synopsis

This book deals with the properties of humic acids isolated from the genetic horizons of the three most abundant soils in the CLLGPBZ located along the catenary: peaty-podzolic-gleyey, pale-podzolic, and soddy-gleyey soils. The studied humic acid preparations are characterized by a large set of indicators, including the acid hydrolysis of humic acids and the study of their non-hydrolysable residue. Modern research methods were used in this work and the results obtained were compared with the literature data. Some dependences of the properties of humic acids on their elemental composition have also been traced, and attempts have been made to substantiate the properties of humic acids from the soil genetic point of view. The results obtained in this work can be used for further study of the properties of humic acids of the humic zone. The book will be of interest to researchers of soil organic matter in both undisturbed and anthropogenically transformed biocenoses.
