Taschenbuch. Etat : Neu. This item is printed on demand - it takes 3-4 days longer - Neuware -One of the important ways to improve blood safety in a transfusion service is to reduce risks. In order to describe a methodological proposal to improve the quality of the transfusion therapy service, an intervention study was carried out at the Hospital Comandante Pinares during the years 2009-2020, divided into four stages: identification of difficulties in 2009, design of the methodological proposal, training and evaluation. The universe included 5541 people (total number of Blood Bank workers, donors, and total number of patients transfused in the hospital). The sample selected by purposive sampling consisted of 5005 people, made up of the technical staff working in the blood bank, donors and patients transfused in Medicine, Surgery, Oncohematology and ICU services, as these are the ones that transfuse the most. The main characteristic of the proposal designed was the previous evaluation of the transfusion indication. By evaluating the main problems affecting the critical transfusion route at the end of the intervention, an improvement in quality and safety indicators was achieved. 88 pp. Englisch.
