Synopsis
Most type of images are identified with the help of textures. Classifying the texture of an image is an important aspect of Image Classification and computer vision. Many fields like bio-metrics, remote sensing, document classification, object and face recognition require texture classification. Texture classification basically consists of two sub problems. The first problem is the feature extraction and the second problem is the classifier designation. This book discusses about some novel feature selection techniques developed to speed up the process of image classification.
