The present study will add a step further to the research done by various scholars in this field. This study is with special reference to the novels of Chaman Nahal’s Azadi, Bhisham Sahani’s Tamas, Bapsi Sidhwa’s Ice Candy Man, Khushwant Singh’s Train to Pakistan and Salman Rushdie’s Shame from the historical and political perspectives.
