The research was conducted in the locality of Yata'i 2, District Yhú, Department of Caaguazú between the months of March and June 2018. The objective was to evaluate the effect of the use of different organic substrates on the chemical composition of vermicompost. The following variables were studied: macronutrient content (N-P-K), conversion percentage and profitability index. An experimental study was carried out with a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) of 4 treatments and 5 replicates. The treatments were T1: 100% cattle manure, T2: 50% cattle manure and 50% soil, T3: 50% cattle manure and leaf litter, T4: 50% cattle manure and 25% fruits + 25% vegetables. The analysis of variance showed statistically significant differences for all the variables studied. The best nitrogen (N) content was obtained with T4 with a mean of 12.48 g/kg, statistically similar to T3 with 9.19 g/kg. The highest Phosphorus (P) content was obtained with T4 with 4.69 g/kg followed by T1 with 4.07 g/kg and for Potassium (K) content T4 with 8.73 g/kg.
