Synopsis

The strategy on attraction of foreign direct investment until 2035, which is currently being developed in the Republic of Belarus, should define long-term goals, objectives, principles, directions and expected results of attraction of foreign investment, taking into account the priorities of socio-economic development of Belarus. Therefore, it defines the following long-term goals: improving the investment climate, increasing the inflow of foreign direct investment into the country's economy, developing infrastructure, including through public-private partnerships, and increasing the efficiency of investment activities. High-tech and knowledge-intensive industries, logistics, transport and digital infrastructure, the financial sector, the social sector - through public-private partnership projects - as well as the tourism industry are considered to be promising areas for attracting foreign direct investment into the Belarusian economy. This study describes how this objective is achieved today in the interaction of the Republic of Belarus in a bilateral format with the countries located on different continents of the planet.
