Optics is the part of physics that aims to study light phenomena perceived by the eye. The human eye is only sensitive to light radiation in the visible range. However, science has shown the existence of other radiation not perceived by the eye, such as ultraviolet radiation (UV) and infrared radiation (IR) which are part of the light but not visible to the human eye. Geometrical optics is a science that deals more with the visible domain, that is to say the radiations perceived by the human eye. The visible light although included in a very reduced interval on the axis of the spectrum 0.4μm<λ <0.8 μm has taken a magnitude such that research and development have not yet known its limits.
