Synopsis

The use of fungicides belonging to the chemical family Benzimidazoles (Benomyl and Thiabendazole), Azoxystrobin and Anilinopyrimidine with calcium chloride shows that in vitro as well as in vivo that the fungicides tested alone are weakly to moderately effective on the fungal complex studied; Rhizopus stolonifer, Penicillium expansum, Aspergillus niger, Aspergillus fumigatus, Alternaria alternata, Cladosporium herbarum, Fusarium oxysporum, Saccharomyces cerevisiae, Monilia fructigina, Cryptosporiopsis malicorticis, Spilocaea pomi and Trichothecium roseum, in vitro Calcium Chloride alone at more than 4% is tolerated by the twelve fungal species. In vivo and at low temperature, calcium chloride is effective at 4 and 6%. Certainly, the association of fungicides; Benzimidazoles, Azoxystrobin and Anilinopyrimidine with calcium chloride (4%) allow a better control of apple rot in conservation. Thus, calcium chloride intervenes by reinforcing the links with the main sites of action of the fungicides of the tested pathogen.
