Synopsis

Acquaintance with the principles of genetic knowledge (genealogy) is needed and related to all people, because all those who have children or a potential hereditary problem in the family, or those who, with persistent and exciting efforts, draw the whole map. Human genes (research plan to draw the complete human gene map) are attached and finally all people need and are interested in this familiarity. Children are similar to their parents and relatives find this similarity and comment on this with sentences like: "His nose is pointed like his grandfather's nose". There are more than 4000 hereditary traits, the chromosomal location of more than 1000 of them is known. About four percent of babies have a serious congenital defect. The word congenital does not explain the cause of the defect and only means the presence of a defect at birth. At least a quarter of these defects are caused by the combined effects of multiple genes plus one or more environmental factors (multifactorial), but the cause of almost half of congenital defects remains unknown.
