The concept of occlusion requires detailed study of stomatognathic function such as mastication, speech, deglutition as well as careful investigation of inter relation ship of morphology of particular stomatognathic organ and resultant function of overall stomatognathic system. When in harmony, these two elements produce optimal health of component parts of the system.
