In November 2011, CENI organized the presidential and legislative elections in the DRC. The failure of these elections led to a political, socio-economic, security and genocide crisis. The author of the book, a human rights defender from Bandundu, served as a national observer in synergy with international observers from the EU. This book, composed of three parts, makes the reader discover, in the first part, the enormous potentialities of Bandundu, the organization of the elections and its peripatetic before, during and after the day of the election. The election of Congolese women in the 2006 and 2011 elections is problematic. Its analysis with supporting statistics is made in the second. Proposals for the realization of parity in the DRC are made. The third part of the book deals with the security situation and human rights violations committed in Bandundu. Latent conflicts that may one day degenerate exist and must find a lasting solution for peace: the case of the Batwa, a Pygmy ethnic minority group. Sociologists, historians, anthropologists and political scientists should further investigate the issue.
