Synopsis

Because of the invention of bonding, orthodontic treatment has become more common, various treatment techniques have been developed, and treatment duration has become shorter as the number of appointments has decreased. The heat generated during debonding has been linked to pulpal damage in studies on debonding and adhesive clean-up procedures. Regardless of the adhesive debonding and removal methods used, the various debonding techniques may result in surface alterations. Surface changes after brackets are significant because the enamel's external surface contains more minerals and fluoride than the deeper layers.
