Synopsis

The prosthetic procedures should not be planned untill the systemic status of the patient is evaluated. Treatment planing is a consideration of all the diagnostic findings, systemic and local which influence the surgical preparations of the mouth, impression making, maxillomandibular relation records, occlusion, form and material in the teeth. So the dentist not only must be aware of the systemic factors but must also consider them is the treatment plan. Some systemic diseases have a direct relation to denture success even though no local manifestation is apparent. Many systemic diseases have a local manifestation with no apparent systemic symptoms and others have both local and systemic reactions.
