The book started with a fundamental discussion on the dynamic stability problem. The basic model of a synchronous machine is overviewed. The dynamic model of PSS and SVC FACTS controller and their installation in Single Machine Infinite Bus power system is the major thrust area of this book. The effectiveness and performance of the SVC FACTS controllers are investigated and compared and particularly superiority of these SVC FACTS controller over traditional PSS has been shown in facing commonly occurring power system disturbances.
