Synopsis

The main objective of today's freight transportation scenario is to meet the needs of customers in terms of time, cost, information and quality, and one of the modes of transportation that is a benchmark worldwide in terms of customer satisfaction is water transportation. The process in the distribution chain that deserves a lot of attention is the movement of the goods being transported, because it is the stage of this whole process where we add quality to the service provided. In Brazil, and specifically in the state of Amazonas, there is a greater incidence of river transportation due to the fact that there is a rich and extensive waterway potential in the region in question, as well as the absence of other modes of transportation. In this context, the municipality of Parintins is located in the interior of the state, as it is an island and the city is restricted to just two modes of transport, river and air. Because it is the cheapest and most viable mode of transportation in the municipality, companies choose river transportation to obtain and transport their goods.
