This study, "Non-Financial Motivation and Employee Efficiency in Nigerian Banks," explores how non-financial motivation affects employee efficiency and productivity in Nigerian banks. Grounded in Herzberg’s Two-Factor Theory and Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs, the study employs a literature review methodology, synthesizing academic sources, scholarly articles, and case studies. Findings indicate that non-financial motivators such as recognition, career development, work-life balance, job security, and a supportive work environment significantly enhance job satisfaction and performance. Employees perceiving high non-financial support are more engaged and productive. The study underscores the importance of non-financial motivation alongside financial incentives, recommending Nigerian banks implement recognition programs to boost morale and productivity by making employees feel valued.
