The field of graphene science and technology is relatively new, having emerged since 2004. In the decades that followed, it remained difficult to say which applications would prove to be the most popular. Nanotechnology monitors a leading agricultural controlling process, especially by its miniature dimension, which put carbon and carbon related nanomaterial like graphene in the spotlight of science and technology research. Improving fertilizer use efficiency is global goal, and new engineering approaches are needed to design more effective nutrient delivery to crops and minimize harmful losses to the environment. Recent strategies to address this problem are based on designing slow-release fertilizers or polymer-coating of conventional fertilizers. The significant loading and desirable release performances of GO-based carriers make them favourable for loading of any nutrient and could be used as generic carriers for creating of new generation of advanced SRFs. Graphene and Graphene oxide can be used as additives in fertilizer granules to significantly improve their physical properties. Graphene based composites proved to be a potential source of using in various applications.
