Synopsis

In recent years, society's concern for the environment and the use of sustainable technologies has increased considerably. In this context, various activities are being developed within the scope of sustainable technologies in order to reduce environmental impacts, such as: the proper management of solid and liquid waste, the use of renewable energy sources and local food production. The use of renewable energy sources has been intensified around the world in an attempt to mitigate the harmful effects caused to the environment by the burning of fossil fuels. In the Northeast of Brazil, despite the widespread use of cooking gas, the use of firewood as a source of energy for domestic consumption in rural areas is still common practice. However, there are various alternatives for living in the semi-arid region with the aim of guaranteeing better living conditions for the population, including the use of ecological stoves, which present an ecological proposal to reduce the consumption of firewood.
