States need to define a National Strategy to guide their political actions, which may result in closer or more distant relations with certain countries. Almost always, the establishment of this strategy originates from theoretical studies of geopolitics, combined with practical experiments that have been accumulated and recorded throughout history. The Brazilian case is illustrative, based on the country's international relations between 1902 and 1914. The approval of the Naval Re-equipment Programs of 1904 and 1906 established milestones in the process of renewal and modernization of the Brazilian Navy. Once ready and operational, these ships would give Brazil a comfortable advantage in the diplomatic arena, sufficient to impose its dominance over the South Atlantic seas. Applying geopolitical assumptions in the comparative context of Brazil and Argentina in the early 20th century, it is possible to provoke reflections on the formulation of Brazil's naval and diplomatic strategies. This research attempts to understand naval strategy through the lens of geopolitics and international relations, fostering new questions and new objects that stimulate the generation of knowledge.
