9786208923761: THEORIES FOR UNDERSTANDING THE LABOR MARKET IN LATIN AMERICA: A Critical and Plural Approach

Synopsis

It addresses the issue of the poor quality of employment in a context of global economic weakening and its influence on labor vulnerability. It points out that the weakened global economy is one of the causes of unemployment and that existing employment is becoming increasingly precarious. Labor vulnerability is defined in terms of self-employed and unpaid family workers relative to total employment. Workers in vulnerable employment have limited access to contributory social security, low levels of productivity and irregular earnings, which increases the risk of poverty.
