Synopsis

This paper focuses on burnout, a condition that is becoming increasingly relevant in the teaching profession. It examines the work-related behaviour and experience patterns of students and whether there are differences between primary school and secondary school teacher training programmes. As part of the survey, sixth-semester students at the University of Teacher Education Vienna/Krems on the Krems/Mitteraus campus were surveyed using a questionnaire. Based on the data collected, it can be assumed that the choice of study programme has no significant influence on how work-related behaviour and experience patterns are perceived. Students on the primary school programme find their studies just as appealing or relaxed as students on the new secondary school programme.
