This study explores the integration of Green Technical and Vocational Education and Training (Green TVET) with cultural preservation through the traditional wood carving of Morion masks in Marinduque, Philippines. Focusing on the Provincial Training Center (PTC) Marinduque, the research documents training initiatives in Mogpog, Gasan, and Sta. Cruz under the guidance of master carvers Salvador and James Liwanagan. Using a qualitative thematic approach, the study examines current carving practices, environmental impacts, and opportunities for sustainable methods. Findings show that eco-friendly practices—such as sustainable material sourcing, waste reduction, and environmentally conscious design—can be incorporated without compromising cultural authenticity. The experience of trainee-turned-artisan Gilbert Monsanto, whose works are exhibited locally and internationally, exemplifies the potential for Green TVET to generate livelihoods and foster cultural ambassadorship. The study concludes by proposing a Green TVET training framework, offering a model for communities to preserve cultural heritage while promoting sustainability.
