9786209635199: A Study On Consumer Preference Towards Online Payment Systems In India

Synopsis

This project examines consumer preference towards online payment systems in India and analyses the key factors influencing their adoption and usage. With the rapid expansion of digital technology and government initiatives promoting a cashless economy, digital payment platforms such as UPI, mobile wallets, debit and credit cards have become integral to everyday financial transactions. The study is based on primary data collected from respondents through a structured questionnaire and focuses on understanding awareness levels, usage patterns, motivating factors, and challenges faced by users. The findings reveal that convenience, security, and ease of use are the primary drivers of adoption, with UPI emerging as the most preferred mode of digital payment. However, issues such as network instability, transaction failures, and security concerns continue to affect user satisfaction. The study concludes that while digital payment systems are widely accepted, improving infrastructure, strengthening cybersecurity measures, and enhancing digital literacy are essential for sustained growth and inclusive financial development.
