This paper focuses on the production of bioethanol using sugar cane as a raw material. Solar thermal energy is the heat source used for distillation. The fermenter, still, solar thermal collector, and boiler were built to create a prototype demonstrating the efficiency of the designed system. The heat flows between the different components of the system are controlled by an electronic device and solenoid valves. The various factors that influence the stages of the process have been studied. The maximum temperature obtained in the boiler is 81°C. We obtained an ethanol production yield of between 8.5% and 12.87% at the distillation stage. The use of the ethanol obtained mixed with SP95 gasoline in a generator is satisfactory up to a rate of 90%.
