With the increase in urban bio-waste in Morocco, uncontrolled landfill sites are generating serious health and environmental impacts. The Oum Azza site (Rabat-Salé), although a public landfill, remains a source of significant nuisance, notably groundwater pollution by leachates and degradation of local infrastructures. This study assesses the suitability of the site through a multi-criteria analysis integrating environmental, socio-economic and technical parameters. It is based on the AHP method, combined with GIS tools and the TOPSIS approach, to ensure a rigorous spatial analysis. The aim is to determine the viability of maintaining the current site or, where appropriate, to identify alternative areas suitable for the establishment of a controlled landfill, in support of sustainable and participatory decision-making.
