9786209803420: Control of Dust and Gas Emissions During Large-Scale Blasting

Synopsis

The work presents theoretical and experimental studies of the processes of pressure change of detonation products in the borehole, taking into account the movement of the stemming. Mathematical models describing the interaction of detonation waves and a methodology for calculating the optimal parameters of borehole charges have been developed. The patterns of formation of harmful gaseous explosion products were studied in relation to the oxygen balance and physicochemical properties of explosives, as well as the influence of mining and geological conditions. A composition and production technology for an absorbent mixture to neutralize toxic compounds in the stemming zone of a borehole have been proposed. New designs for borehole charges and a method for reducing dust and gas emissions have been developed. Pilot-scale industrial tests were conducted under production conditions, confirming the effectiveness of the proposed technical solutions in reducing the concentration of harmful gases, decreasing dust formation, and improving the quality of rock fragmentation.
