Maxillofacial trauma in pediatric patients is a significant clinical concern due to the unique anatomical, physiological, and psychological characteristics of the growing child. Facial injuries may involve the soft tissues, teeth, alveolar structures, and facial bones, with falls, road traffic accidents, sports injuries, and interpersonal trauma being common causes. Pediatric facial trauma differs from adults because of ongoing craniofacial growth, developing dentition, greater bone elasticity, and the presence of tooth buds. Early and appropriate management is essential to restore function, aesthetics, and psychological well-being while minimizing complications and disturbances in growth. This dissertation will review the etiology, patterns, clinical presentation, diagnosis, complications, and multidisciplinary management of maxillofacial trauma in pediatric patients, with emphasis on age-related considerations and the principles of conservative and surgical treatment.
