The main objective is to quantify changes in land cover. Sentinel-2 satellite images, processed using supervised classification, are used to assess transitions between land cover classes. The results reveal that this area has experienced a marked decrease in agricultural and forested areas, as well as a significant decline in cultivated land, which has been replaced by a substantial increase in natural vegetation. Furthermore, the study highlights the rapid urbanization of agricultural land converted into built-up areas, driven by population growth. Remote sensing thus emerges as a powerful tool for mapping land-use changes in semi-arid areas, contributing to decision-making for the sustainable management of natural resources.
