Taschenbuch. Etat : Neu. nach der Bestellung gedruckt Neuware - Printed after ordering - The UEMOA serves as a model for economic integration in Africa, and we felt it would be worthwhile to analyze the legal system that has been established with regard to its competition law. One of the direct consequences of economic integration is the emergence of anticompetitive practices by various economic actors, and the regional bloc that is the subject of our study is no exception to this unfortunate reality. We decided to address this topic because of the pivotal role that competition law plays in the integration framework initiated by the Union, and because of the great significance of this branch of law in this era of globalization and liberalization, where the survival of economic actors depends largely on their ability to withstand competition. Our analysis shows that the WAEMU countries have taken a new step forward in managing their economies with the introduction of competition legislation; however, there is still a long way to go before competition law is effectively enforced in these countries.
