《实验语音学概要（增订版）》从实验的角度比较系统深入地介绍和讨论了语音方面的有关问题，并介绍了语音实验的主要原理和方法。《实验语音学概要（增订版）》初版共分12个部分，包括正文十章和附录两个。第一章介绍实验语音学发展的过去、现在和未来。第二至四章分别介绍语音的物理、生理和心理方面的基础知识。第五至十章着重介绍和讨论元音、辅音、声调、音节和音联、轻重音及区别特征等方面的问题。附录一介绍常用的语音实验仪器装置和使用方法。附录二介绍计算机在语音学研究中的应用。本书尽可能多地吸取国内外关于语音学，尤其是汉语普通话方面的近期实验研究成果。内容较广泛。各章后列出许多参考文献，以供读者更深入地学习研究之用。本次增订版增加了一个"续编"，共包括九章，介绍最近二十多年来语音学本体及相关应用学科方面的新理论、新技术、新方法和新成果，使本书内容与时俱进，更加充实和完美。
