《实用计算机网络技术：基础、组网和维护实验指导》是与《实用计算机网络技术：基础、组网和维护》配套的实验教材。全书内容大致分为4个板块：初级篇、中级篇、高级篇和专业篇。初级篇也是基础篇，包括了基本网络命令的使用、网线制作和网络共享等基础知识。中级篇提供了许多实用的计算机网络技术，包括了局域网内多机共享访问internet、跨局域网的文件传输和打印机共享、有线和无线路由器的基本配置、子网划分、远程控制、无线局域网以及gprs拨号访问internet等相关知识。高级篇是初级篇和中级篇在内容上的拓展和延伸，大体涵盖了宽带路由器的端口映射、web服务器、dns服务器和邮件服务器的配置以及虚拟机等知识。专业篇是对学有余力的同学能力的再一次提升。它涉及了专业的二层、三层交换机的配置和一个路由器的仿真平台。
《实用计算机网络技术：基础、组网和维护实验指导》的内容由浅入深，循序渐进，层次分明。除专业篇的部分实验外，其余绝大部分的实验内容均以解决或部分解决日常办公、学习环境中的网络问题为根本出发点。
