They are indeed old, increasingly distant from modernization, and even their owners' descendants no longer want them, demolishing or selling them to build grander, more practical houses. This is understandable. With economic development, this destructive construction will intensify, and old houses will become increasingly rare, like endangered species (a few former residences of famous people may be spared). Along with them will be precious cultural heritage, architectural art, and valuable tourism resources. By the time we realize this, it will probably be too late; the unique atmosphere and cultural essence of these old houses will be gone forever, and even building many new antiques will be futile. The purpose of publishing this photo collection is twofold: first, to awaken people's renewed appreciation for the value of ancient dwellings, urging them to be more lenient and preserve more of these wonderful old houses; second, even if they are all demolished, at least let them leave some portraits for future generations or even aliens!
