Synopsis

Acupuncture science as an important component of traditional Chinese medicine originates from China and has a very long history. To meet the need for the development of acupuncture and moxibustion in China and abroad, a compulsory national standard GB 12346-90 LOCATION OF POINTS has been approved by the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine and issued by the State Bureau of Technical Supervision of the People's Republic of China. In the Standard, the locations of the points of 14 meridians and a part of extra points are accurately and completely presented. It is the unique standard for the location of points in the acupuncture clinical practice. teaching work and scientific researches, etc. For the purpose of helping with the use of the standard, the Institute of Acupuncture and Moxibustion of the China Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine has compiled and painted the atlas under the supervision of the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine and on the basis of GB 12346-90 LOCATION OF POINTS. This atlas with 28 colour figures shows respectively names and standard locations of 409 points (361 meridian points and 48 extra points) on the front, back and lateral sides of the human body, along with the relative explanation in detail, to facilitate the reader's studies and clinical application.
