A book, written in the style of a novel, about the struggle between the foreign powers for the supremacy in India after the death of Aurangzeb and the subsequent decay of the Mugal Empire. This book is a sequel of sorts to the authors earlier book "When Kings Rode to Delhi". The book is wonderfully researched and has inputs from all quarters of the power struggle - the French and English, the Mysore king Haider Ali and Tipu Sultan, the Marathas, the Nepalis, the Sikhs, the Afghans and Sind. The book ends with the death of the East India Company on 2nd August 1858. The revolt of eighteen fifty-seven is not discussed in this book. The book was published in 1914.
